MODERN ACADEMIC INSTITUITIONS, My Perspective

When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extra ordinary project, all your thoughts break your bonds, your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”

I got inspiration to write this from my surroundings and by observing the world of education today. When looking around we can find many institutions providing education in a customized manner. The owners of the education business redefine the education according to their style and custom. They market the system well and makes the people believe that this is education. They set cover up infrastructure and provides transportation facilities. When we examine all these drama in close, we observe this signifies nothing but with full of sound and fury. This is the situation. In this stage we have to understand what is education?
In modern psychology, education is a wider concept. We can’t include it in a box. Because it offers a wide variety of possibilities and explorations. Some of the factors are:
1.     The basic motto in the present scenario is to provide sufficient input to provide the intellectual quest of the students.
2.     Provide ample space for their creativity.
3.      Create innovative ideas and support the students to make it happen.
4.     Provide space for free thinking.
5.     It is a ground to cultivate morality and ethics.
6.     Bring best educators and born teachers form around the world to cater the intellectual and emotional needs of the students.
7.     Value the uniqueness of persons and accept their different view points.
8.     Assign extra ordinary and multi talented people into the leadership positions of these academic institutions.  Because we cannot mimic quality.
9.     It is a place where standards, human vales and competence are respected.
10.                         Bring international standards to people, infrastructure and strategies.
11.                         Make it an open platform to welcome the suggestions and improvements.

Unfortunately, can we say these are practiced in our educational systems?  Surely not. Then, what is going on there.

1.     Most of the educational systems are run by unethical people with money motives.
2.     Most of the governing board members have no idea about the dynamics of education and the fast moving information society.
3.     Most of the head of the institutions are not adequately competent to lead the vibrant students and high-tech faculties.
4.     They lack crisis resolution capabilities. They have an inherent fear of the failures.
5.     We can’t expect the real leadership from them.

The world respects the wise ones, the scholars. The wise ones get honored and rewarded with riches. One can get anything through learning. It is worshipped everywhere.”
