My Experience as HOD.

Here I am going to share the real facts that I experienced during my profession as a department head.

             To be a teacher is a high calling, never under estimate it. Teaching is a divine mission to escape the generations from moral death. No one can substitute for a great teacher. I know this. For that reason the career of a teacher is never in my mind. My ambitions is to reach the top of a corporate ladder. But the Almighty created a drama, and for every individual he assigns a role to play. No body can escape from it. That is what is happened to me. In some day I take the role of a teacher. I surely believe it is a divine mission. That a day I took a decision in my mind. ie, I want to be a great teacher in all aspects. I will try my best and is trying now to achieve that level. 

         There is a saying, "As time ripens you will be rewarded that you deserved".  I was designated as the HOD.  But I am not mentally prepared to take this responsible position. In my perspective, a HOD is a person with all wisdom and a man with all answers. If he fails to answer a single question , then he will ruin the generations. ( Questions are not relating to academic). My Principal and my family advised me to take this responsibility. But I give it to some one with my filled mind and I think I am escaped. But the things are not so.

          There is another saying, "You can only play your own role". The designation of HOD again comes to me and the management brings me into that position. This time I never look for escaping options, But to admit the call of God. From that day I am looking for more and more options to improve the department to some extent. During these days I face  a lot of challenges. Some are demoting and some are unimaginable. But God is with me to survive from that challenges.  During these days I got an opportunity to guide intelligent and talented students. I have a characteristics that I openly criticize those who do mistakes and to protect them those who needs.  When I protect some one I never consider the losses that are happened to me. But I never do unethical end injustice. I am always   in the side of justice. Whether it is in the side of students or in the side of teachers. Doing justice is my ultimate aim. By doing justice, someone may hurt. It will not affect me. 

               Some teachers are blaming me for caring the students. But they are not realizing that our students need care, considerations and more over protection. Is some teachers can't control the class well, how they can blame some one. In a classroom, the teacher is the superior authority. But our teachers lack awareness  about it. It is the sole problem of theirs. Their quality degradation. The students of the modern age questions everything and they needs answers. If the teacher fails to answer, the teachers acceptance gone out.  

             I have one advice to teachers, train oneself and gain great wisdom to lead the intelligent and talented students. Don't imitate, this is the time of genuineness.

Does age brings wisdom?

 What is wisdom? From where it comes? How we can apply it?

            We cannot simply define wisdom. Wisdom is divine and it is above all. Wisdom makes us real humans. When we hear the term wisdom, then all are looking towards an old man for it. Is it there. Surely not. It is not in one's hand. That means it is with someone who knows himself and he is in an irresistible urge for gaining it. Then he will be rewarded with great wisdom. It does not need age, it needs your will. If you have a good will receive this great treasure, you are the eligible one to receive it. 

              Applying wisdom is not easy. Wisdom plays an important role in daily life and it dictates all the lives and personal affairs of individuals and the whole society. In the societies, colleges, houses we can find many injustices, arrogance and misleading facts. These are the results of lack of wisdom. In these situations wisdom is not applied properly. The reason is, authorities and the people that guide the society have no wisdom. But they pretends that they are the source of all wisdom. How such idiots can believe so. During these days I observed a lot of things in the colleges and the society. I know some teachers with age and absence of wisdom. How they guide the students to the ultimate truth. They are the teachers of stone ages. They demand respect without sacrificing nothing. We can gain wisdom by understanding others. So we utilize     more time to understand others and help others. It is the duty and call of the teacher. 

                Our society is to be traveled a lot to reach the destiny of wisdom. In some eras they will get it. 

Why teachers didn't get respect from the students?

I am going to write this article about the  things that I observed in my professional life recently.  Here I observed great problems in the attitude of  the teachers. If any one can rectify the problems I mentioned here, surely they get respect.

        In the earlier days, the teachers are respected and admired by the society and the disciples. To the society they are the guiding light and the source of all wisdom and knowledge.That days teachers are considered as the representatives of the God. So they are admired. But, the conditions of life and the widening of the knowledge deteriorates the importance of teachers. Here conditions of life get changed, but the attitudes of the teachers not changed. They think they are the Gods. Yet they have no such respectable qualities and they need respect. How it should be possible. In my opinion respect is not demanded, but it must be earned. Earning respect is not an easy one. To earn respect one should practice genuineness, personal excellence, leadership, wisdom, morality, virtues and also sacrifices. Here I remember one thing that    age never brings wisdom. In modern teachers they lack wisdom and they don't know what is right. 

                  When a great teacher walks into the class room, the whole situation automatically changes. This is due to the powerful aura they beholds. They attain this much power through their quality life.For satisfying this, some educationalists conduct a research with the dogs. When ever the master of the house get into the house, dogs behave in a respectable manner. When other members came there, they show some listening attitude. It denotes an indication that everyone knows how to respect any whom to respect.

           If the teachers need respect they should practice the following suggestions. 

1. Be good at what you do.
2. Be open to criticism.
3. Hold your values.
4. Be your self.
5. Be a way to others.
6. Be sincere
7. Be human.
8. Radiate confidence.
9. Be answerable to all the questions.
10. Overall be faithful.

Guru

Do you realize now the sacred significance and the supreme importance of the Guru's role in the evolution of man.

A Guru is a significance of God, is free from envy, knows himself and is intent upon it. In my opinion a true Guru has the following characteristics.

1. The society is demanding more from him.

2. He is a person of competence.

3. He is approachable and helpful to his disciples.

4. He is always a guiding light to his disciples.

5. He is treated as a man of God.

6. A real Guru's influence goes beyond generations.

                          Can we compare the above qualities with our modern teachers? Why they are still be teachers? Why the formation is not applicable to them to Gurus. It is the time for teachers to assess themselves.
